
Savoury Cheddar Velvet
This velvety smooth spread has wonderful aged Cheddar bite with a fragrance of orange and spice. Serve with hearty crackers and ripened fruit. Beautifully compliment’s our Oh So Very Cranberry chutney.
Ingredients:
- 1 lb. orange old Cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1 pg. (250 g) cream cheese
- ½ cup creamy butter, softened
- 1 tsp. grated orange rind
- 2 tbsp. Dijon mustard
- ¼ tsp. ground nutmeg
Directions:
- In a food processor, blend together Cheddar cheese, cream cheese and butter until combined. Add orange rind and juice, mustard, nutmeg and blend just until thick and creamy.
- Spoon into serving dish and stretch plastic wrap around dish. Cover and refrigerate for at least 8 hours or until chilled and fir. (cheese spread can be refrigerated for up to 3 days.)
- To serve, peel of plastic wrap and let stand for 30 minutes.
